Heavy rains with hail flooded streets and roads in Murcia
The water and the hail fallen yesterday
afternoon in the Murcia region flooded streets, basements, warehouses and
various roads, into a storm which motivated more than 100 calls to emergency
phone 112.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet)
has now restored the Green level of alert, which means absence of weather
adverse phenomena, thus ended the Orange notice that activated this Monday by
storms in the Vega del Segura, till 23.00 hours, with a probability of up to
70%; and the yellow notice by rains in the Vega del Segura, Lorca, Guadalentín
Valley, Highlands, Northwest, and Águilas.
The 112 received six to eight o'clock in
the afternoon about 150 calls, mostly from Murcia and districts such as Espinardo,
Churra, Nonduermas, La Alberca, Monteagudo, Guadalupe and El Esparragal, for
drainage of water, drop of objects to the driveway and crawlsamong other
emergencies.
As a result of the heavy rain with hail,
will cut traffic access to the road that links La Alcayna and Altorreal
Espinardo and the entrance to Juan de Borbón by this same area. There were also
difficulties in driving by the N-301 old access to Molina de Segura, at the
height of the roundabout in Isla Grosa.
